Virgil W Emerson

Funeral services for Mr. Virgil Wano Emerson, age 85, will be held at 2 pm Monday, July 15, 2024, at Mason Wells Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne McKee and Bro. Frank Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 – 7 pm Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home.

Mr. Emerson passed away on July 7, 2024, in Jackson, TN. He was born on July 18, 1938, in Uptonville, TN to the late Bedford Emerson and Alma Elder Emerson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Emerson was an employee of South Side High School for 36 years. He enjoyed mowing the school grounds and he made many friends at South Side throughout the years. His hobby was collecting knives. He loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.

Mr. Emerson is survived by his wife, Linda Emerson; sons, Jeff Emerson (Darcey), Darrell Emerson; sister, Abbie Hardee; grandchildren, Becky Clark (Jeff), Leslie Emerson, Chris Emerson, Rob Emerson (Johanna); great grandchildren, Hunter Cole, Dylan Clark, Ethan Clark, Dani Murchison, Mason Emerson, Owyn Emerson, Reese Emerson; great-great grandchild, Emerson Cole.
