Martha "Kitty" Coplin

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Marthaleen Higgins Coplin, age 95, will be held at 2pm Monday, March 11, 2024, at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home. A visitation with the family will be held from 1pm-2pm before the service. Interment will follow at Beech Bluff Cemetery.

Mrs. Coplin entered her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on March 8, 2024, in Beech Bluff, TN. She was born on September 12, 1928, in McNairy County to the late Alva Marvin Higgins and Vetress Bearden Higgins. Kitty was a homemaker, volunteered for many community events and worked over fifty years in elections. Her favorite hobbies included gardening and preserving, sewing, cooking, yard work, and of course service to others in the community. She was a long-time servant at the Beech Bluff Methodist Church, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of sixty-six years, Julian Staples Coplin; son, Danny Thomas Coplin; brothers, Aaron Higgins, Sam Higgins; sister, Loudeen Norwood.

Mrs. Coplin is survived by her son, Julian Michael Coplin (Vickie); daughter, Pamela Coplin Yagoda (Joel); daughter-in-law, Cathy Coleman Coplin; sister, Mary Ella Klopp; grandchildren, Luke Coplin (Lindsey), Dallas Coplin (Courtney), Dillon Coplin, Dakota Coplin (Savannah), Sarah Yagoda; great grandchildren, Adele Coplin, Annie Coplin, Archer Coplin, and Camille Coplin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Beech Bluff Methodist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Carl Perkins Center For The Prevention Of Child Abuse.
