Lamar Ray Childress

Graveside services for Mr. Lamar Ray Childress, Sr., age 87, will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Big Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Tracy Snider officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at Lawrence Sorensen Funeral Home from 11-1 pm before moving to the cemetery for the graveside service.

Mr. Childress passed away on July 12, 2025, in Jackson, TN. He was born on September 7, 1937, in Jackson, TN to the late William Arthur Childress and Erfie Surles Childress. He was retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a lifelong farmer. The two most important things in his life was his home and the love he had for his family. 

Mr. Childress is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Ann Childress; son, Lamar Ray Childress, II (Stacy); brother, Thomas Earl Childress (Janet) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Brennen, Aiden Childress.
