Jimmie Lynn Farrar Phillips, age 79, of Beech Bluff, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Jimmie was born on April 4, 1946, in Jackson, TN, to the late Rev. James A. Farrar and Evelyn Jones Farrar. She was a long-time, active member of Parkview Baptist Church, Jackson, TN and East Union Baptist Church, Jackson, TN.
Jimmie actively participated in both churches, playing the piano, teaching children (Mission Friends), and leading Women on Mission. For several years, she served the Madison-Chester/Crockett Baptist Association as WMU director. She was a dedicated Christian with a loving, missionary heart. She enjoyed helping others, cooking, making sour dough bread, and most of all her handywork in crocheting.
Also, she was employed by and retired from the State of Tennessee, working in various positions.
In addition to her parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by her daughter, Camille Anne Phillips; sister, Frances Anne Farrar Maxwell; brother-in-law, Gipsy Benton Maxwell; nephew, James Farrar Maxwell; niece, Sijbrigje Maxwell.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. John R. Farrar (Alice) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jimmie will be conducted at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, officiated by Rev. Larry Murphy. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12-1 pm before the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed in her honor to the respective local church of choice or Gideons International.
