David Allen Kirk

Graveside services for Mr. David Alan Kirk, age 68, will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Nebo Cemetery with Dr. John Farrar officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 1 – 3 pm before the service at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home.

Mr. Kirk passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2026, in Jackson, TN. He was born on January 16, 1957, the son of the late Robert and Rebecca Kirk. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Deborah Richardson, Robert Kirk, John Kirk and Gail Kirk.

Mr. Kirk was a 1975 graduate of Beech Bluff High School. He was employed by the City of Jackson for 29 years before retiring in 2014. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of East Union Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, working on all kinds of projects but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. They were the biggest joys of his life. David will be remembered most for his love of his family and the laughter he brought to all who knew him.

Mr. Kirk leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Christine Kirk; sons, Josh Kirk, Jeremiah Kirk, Tyler Kirk, BJ Thompson (Marisol), Brandon Thompson (Jessica); siblings, Diane Hurley, Candy Pope, Chris Kirk, Lisa Elgart; he also leaves behind numerous grandchildren to honor his memory.
