Mary "Sue" Lister Thornton

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary “Sue” Lister Thornton, age 93, will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Browns Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-7 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home and from 10-11 am before the service.

Mrs. Thornton passed away on December 11, 2022, at Bells Nursing Home. She was born on March 11, 1929, in Cedar Grove, TN to the late Obie Robert Usery and Nancy Bell Scallions Usery. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles David Lister; 2nd husband, Joe Thornton; sisters, Naoma Barr, Ruthie Climer, Marie Stanford, Mable Page; brothers, J.T, Usery, Robert Usery, Winford Usery, Emeral Usery; infant baby boy.

Mrs. Thornton is survived by her daughters, Michelle Gooch (Tony), Linda Laster (Jerry); grandchildren, Susan Frye (Bruce Dixon), Michael Laster; great grandchildren, Dixie Sego (Cody), Cody Frye, Caleb Frye, Shelby Laster, Michael Laster; great-great grandchild, Jodie-Marie Frye.
