Ione Brown Wilson went to Heaven on March 8, 2023, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 10, 1932, in Medon, TN to the late Jessie A. and Dane Canovan Brown. She graduated from Malesus High School in 1949. On April 15, 1952, Ione, the farmers daughter, married the love of her life, Leon Wilson. They made their home in Medon their entire lives. Ione enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. Ione’s fulltime job was taking care of the home place and raising two boys while Leon worked. Together, over the course of 25 years, they built the “new house” in their spare time.

Ione was an active member of Clover Creek Baptist Church. In the early 70’s Leon (Falcon) and Ione (Mrs. Falcon) were active in various community service projects through the Big J CB Club.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; son Rickey Wilson, Sr.; brothers, Parnelle Brown, Jessie Lynn Brown.

Ione is survived by her son, Brian Wilson (Debbie) of Jackson; grandchildren, Tracy Killough (Randy) of Jackson, Christy Gilliam (Jackie) of Enville, Kim Elway of Henderson, Rickey Wilson, Jr. of Silerton, Logan Wilson of Tiptonville; step-granddaughter, Keelie Springer of Jackson; twelve great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers to serve are Jackie Gilliam, Randy Killough, Jared Gilliam, Jason Taylor, Landon Taylor, and Logan Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Jared, Archie Owens, Don O. King, Doug Melton, David Bird, Norman McMaster, and Jim Wilson.

The family wishes to thank special friends Glenn and Darline Jared, Becky Dorris, Clover Creek and Malesus Baptist Church families, Bart Walls and staff at Madison County Highway Department, and Hospice of West Tennessee.
