Gipsy Benton Maxwell

Graveside services for Mr. Gipsy Benton Maxwell, age 86, will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Beech Bluff Cemetery with Dr. John Farrar and Bro. Jeff Palmer officiating. Mr. Maxell passed away on September 22, 2021, in Jackson, TN. He was born on September 21, 1935, in Jackson, TN to the late William Isaac Maxwell and Gipsy Bell Williams Maxwell. Gipsy was a Christian man and believed that Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again to save him from his sins. His mission in life was to serve others. Gipsy was a devoted husband, taking care of Anne till he couldn't last week. What a dad! His three boys have always been close by to receive his loving care. Eight grandchildren that were spoiled rotten by their Grandaddy. His community reaped the benefits of his service through his involvement in ball programs and being there for his neighbors when they were in need. Gipsy was an electrician by trade, but his heart was in knife making. He shared his abilities with many teaching them his God-given talent. Mr. Maxwell is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Marion Whitt Maxwell, James Carroll Maxwell, Brooxsie Jeanette Maxwell Jones, William Elton Maxwell, Margaret Nell Maxwell Smith, Cecil Anderson Maxwell, and Ona Mae Maxwell Leatherwood. Mr. Maxwell is survived by his loving wife, Frances Anne Farrar Maxwell; sons, James Farrar Maxwell (Labina), Richard Benton Maxwell (Sijbrigje), David William Maxwell (Jennifer); sister, Wilma Danita Maxwell Willey; grandchildren, William Brandon Maxwell, Catherine Camille Maxwell, Brittany Lynn Maxwell, Lucy Claire Maxwell Essary, Benjamin David Maxwell, Nathaniel David Maxwell, and Caleb Benton Maxwell; great grandchild, Oaklee Michael Crowley. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to East Union Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
