Frank was born on September 30, 1957 to Conon Collis “Bud” Rankin & Mary Virginia Rice Rankin. He was born in Jackson, TN. He graduated from South Side High School. In July 1976, Frank began working at Rockwell, known today as Stanley Black n Decker. He retired from Stanley Black n Decker with 46 years and 7 months of service while maintaining 42 years of perfect attendance. His advice was to be on time and come in, do your job, and go home. Frank was just as steady and dependable in his private life. He believed in Jesus and showed his faith and love by helping others when he could. He was a member of the Anderson Presbyterian Church. He was always up for a road trip, to help someone move furniture, or trying a new place to eat. He described himself as a country boy, and he enjoyed being outdoors. He loved being on the river in his boat or riding like the wind on his motorcycle. He also had a passion for antiques. He could be found looking for hidden treasures at estate sales, yard sales, and auctions. He never failed to impress us when he would find a piece that might look dusty or just plain old to us, but was worth several hundred dollars to the right collector. He was a born salesman that never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to Gun Shows and met all kinds of new and interesting people. He had a great sense of humor. He valued family and friendship. He did his best to make everyone around him feel included and cared for.

Frank was very proud of his two sons, Jason and Chris. His face would light up every time someone would look at them and say, “You must be Frank Rankin’s sons.” Frank loved being a Paw-Paw. He enjoyed going to school functions, plays, concerts, and awards days.

Mr. Rankin was preceded in death by his parents and his late wife Vickey Rankin. He is survived by his sister Linda R. Bucy (Ed Bucy) of VA and his sister Brenda R. Smith (Tony Smith) of Texas. Frank is also survived by his two sons and their families as follows:

His son, Jason Conon Rankin (Mary Beth) children Anna, Jason Jr., Ava, & Colton.

His son, Christopher Alan Rankin (Candice) children Haden, Madison, Emma, Hailey, Brooklyn.

He was known affectionately as Uncle Frank to many beloved nieces and nephews. He also is survived by several special cousins and numerous loving and supportive family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve are Haden Rankin, Jason Rankin Jr., Darrell Wray, Joe Pruitt, Barrett Nichols, and Mark Beasley.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to St. Jude.
