Emily Lois Johnson

Mrs. Emily Lois Johnson, age 57, passed away in her home on March 13, 2021. She was born on March 27, 1963, in Jackson, TN to the late Albert Murry Buntin and Beverly Ann Shaw Buntin. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kerry Johnson: her sons, Benjamin Johnson (Rachel), Bradley Johnson (Ruby); her sisters, Susan Buntin Matthews (Jim), Mary Buntin Wadley (Bob); her grandson, Christopher Johnson, and her nephew, Robert Wadley. Emily was a devoted wife and mother, and her favorite memories were the time spent with her family. She graduated from Northside High School in 1981 and continued her education at Union University where she obtained her degree in nursing. She will be remembered for her compassionate and caring personality that shone through in her lifetime career as a RN. Throughout her battle with neuroendocrine cancer, she remained a pillar of strength and was a positive influence on everyone. Even in her final days, she was comforting and concerned about others. Graveside services will be held at Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery, Tuesday, March 16 at 4:30 pm for friends and family. There will be a private viewing for the immediate family at 4:15 pm. Bro. Malcolm Pinion will be officiating. Ararat Baptist Church is located at 3608 Brownsville Hwy, Jackson, TN 38301. The family requests for all attendees to wear a mask. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, Kirkland Cancer Center, and Funny Farm Animal Rescue Ranch.
