Dorothy C. Sowell

Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy C. Sowell (Mama Dot), age 100, will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Ebenezer Cemetery with Bro. Danny Rachel officiating.

Mrs. Sowell passed away on July 20, 2023 in Humboldt, TN. She was born February 2, 1923 in Tennessee to the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter King. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, James W. Sowell; brother, Carlisle King; sister, Bertie Olivi; daughter, Barbara Jean King; and son in law, Joe J. King.

Mrs. Sowell is survived by her sister-in-law, Rebecca Terry (Ray); grandchildren, Lisa Carnal (Robin), Cheryl Rogers (Eric); great grandchildren, Ashley Rogers (Ty), Dr. Amanda Carnal Morris (Adam), Bethany Tims (Ty); great-great grandchildren, Audrey Morris, Andrew Morris, and Matthew Tims.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Humboldt, TN for their fantastic care of Mama Dot over the last several years.
