Graveside services for Mrs. Bettye Ann Cole, age 94, will be held at 2 pm Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Ridgecrest Cemetery with Jeff Kelley officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 12-1:30 pm before the service at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cole passed away on April 23, 2023, in Huntington, TN. She was born on June 5, 1928, in Humboldt, TN to the late John U. Johnson and Hazel Steelman Johnson. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1946. She continued her education at Jackson Beauty Academy where she received her beauty operator license and later taught for many years. In 1949 she Married J.W. Evans and later moved to Jackson, TN. J.W. died at an early age and she later married Jerry Cole. Bettye was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a devout Christian and it showed in her personal life. She was a dedicated Sunday school teacher for 50 years and she loved the children she taught. She was admired for her positive attitude and pleasant personality. She loved to travel and took many trips with family and friends. She loved being outdoors, including hunting and fishing. Betty and Jerry loved spending time at their lake house in Parsons, TN.

Mrs. Cole is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, J.W. Evans; second husband, Jerry Lamar Cole; sisters, Sarah Porter, Dorothy Hayes, Grace Young, Louise Powell, Flossie Callan, Ethel Lambert; brothers, John Albert Johnson, Doc Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Jack Smithey and Floyd Smithey.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her sister, Sharon Kelley, nieces, nephews, and friends
